We met the 2011 Rebele Challenge, thanks to you!
The First Amendment Coalition is pleased to announce that the matching-fund goals of the Rebele Challenge Grant have been achieved and the Rebele First Amendment Legal Fund is now an established fact!
A year ago FAC received a $100,000 contribution from long-time supporters Rowland “Reb” Rebele and Pat Rebele. In addition, the Rebeles pledged to add 50 percent to other supporters gifts to FAC. Our goal—ambitious for this organization, particularly during these difficult economic times—was to raise $200,000 (to be matched by a second $100,000 grant from the Rebeles).
In fact, we beat that goal, raising over $230,000 in contributions big and small from individuals and corporations that care deeply about government accountability and free speech. For the big contributions, we give special thanks to FAC supporters:
